The Big Picture - Jaguar in Miniature
by Doug Breithaupt

While my collection of Jaguar toy cars is less that the previous 'Big Picture' displays, there are still over 200 examples. The SS100 at the beginning of row one is a Dinky model of the late 1930's and the oldest model in my collection.

While an excellent variety of Jaguar cars have been done in small-scale, many models are still missing or barely represented. No Mark VII, VIII or IX models exist except one crude plastic version. Only one Mk. II exists (Corgi) and no diecast XJ6 S3 models have been done in 1:64.

A variety of racing Jaguars have been done with D-type, E-type and XJ-S models as well as the XJR-12 and recent F1 racer. The C-type would be a great addition.

Not surprisingly, the E-type and XJ-S are the best represented Jaguars in small-scale. The XJ220 was also a popular model.

The current S-type and XK8 are well represented but the most recent XJ6 is from 1988. One-example models include the XKSS, XJ13, XJ6 S1 and S2, Mk I, X-type and XK140.
