Dynamic Gear by Mandarin- building a checklist
by Stephen Bresnehan

List from back of packaging for #116a. Cars listed but not yet seen are in red text, cars listed in black text are ones known to exist.

#101 Chevrolet Stingray

#102 Oldsmobile Toronado

#103 Buick Riviera

#104 Ford Thunderbird

#105 Ferrari 250LM Dull red/silver base (auction site)

#106 Volvo 1800 S

#107 Benz 230 SL Black/possibly silver base (TofTC article)

#108 Chevrolet Camaro Pale purple/silver base (auction site)

#109 Celica 1600 GT White/black base (auction site)

#110 Corona Mark II Purple/black base (auction site)

#111 Skyline 2000 GT

#112 Colt Galant Red/silver base (auction site)

#113 Toyopet Crown

#114 Fair Lady

#115 Toyota 2000 GT

#116a Honda 1300 Dark green/silver base (my collection):

#116b Honda 1300 Apple green/black base (auction site)

All cars appear to have metal bases. I'm assuming the silver base cars pre-date the black base cars. It is possible the full set was available in silver or black base versions, but that's just a guess.

Only one wheel type is known- a black plastic wheel with chrome plastic 'hubcap' insert, very similar to early Playarts. This wheel appears to only come in one size, which makes for an undersized look on some models- the Camaro suffers from this.

Model notes:

#101 Chevrolet Stingray. Suggested in TofTC article to be a C2. Not known if it's a roadster or coupe.

#105 Ferrari 250LM. Mid-engined racing coupe. Is not a copy of the Husky. Looks to be a nicely proportioned design.

#108 Chevrolet Camaro. Looks to be a '67 model. A bit crude and oddly proportioned, undersized wheels.

#111 Skyline 2000 GT. Is this a Prince or a Nissan?

#112 Colt Galant. Small Mitsubishi, ancestor of the Lancer.

#113 Toyopet Crown. Early Toyota sedan.

#114 Fair Lady. Could be a Datsun 240Z or more likely a 2000 Roadster

All models confirmed are of cars in production between 1966ish and 1972.

Later issue- London bus. Said to be 1979. (also spotted on an auction site)., looks to be a MB 'Londoner' copy., 3 liveries known- 'Green Bus', 'World Travels' and 'Singapore Airlines', blister card has 'Superwheels' script, not 'Dynamic Gear'.. Mandarin logo is the same, wheel types are different to the 'Dynamic Gear' wheel, instead looks very similar to some mid-70s Matchbox types.
